The Sovereign Trail - Video
(updated: Jul 15, 2007)
This was the first time I'd ridden this trail in the three times I've been to Moab, and I have to say, this is now one of my favorites. It's not a long ride, but it's got singletrack, it flows great and there's not too much climbing. It's actually shared with motocross so you'll come across lots of these folks riding the same trail. So the only drawback is that it gets crowded.
It's an out-and-back trail like Amasa Back, but it's got potential to become a big loop as there is a lot of land available.
Like Porcupine Rim and Slickrock, this trail is fast becoming a classic Moab must-do trail.
I can't wait to get back to Moab so I can ride this trail again, especially after putting together this video. I'd just like to spend more time just so I can hang out on a rock and soak in the views for a while.
For the video I emphasized the trail noise over the music so you can get a better sense of the technical nature of this trail which works your bike pretty good. But you'll hear me sniffling a bunch because I picked up a bad cold on the trip (happens every time I fly).
By the way, the quality of the video is so good you can watch it full screen and still see all the detail. The camera tends to flatten things out, so immersing yourself in a full screen is about the only way to get a sense of the steepness.

Another outstanding video SBA! That trail looks to be one of the more technical ones that you have posted video for...
