Amasa Back Video

(updated: Jul 27, 2007)

Finished the Amasa Back video. This is another one of my favorite trails in Moab. It's an out-and-back. You climb up to this amazing overlook 800ft above the Colorado River, and then bomb back down. The climbing is not bad, and the downhill is a technical treat. I still haven't done the extended part or the alternate way down. I hear it's good...next time.

There are a lot of 4x4 vehicles that use the trail. I had never seen any until this trip. It is amazing to watch these vehicles go up and down some of these rocks.

This trail has gotten seriously eroded in certain spots. I like to think of this trail as a living thing that changes over time so that the next time I ride it, it will be different.

Enjoy,

There is so much you haven't ridden, North Mills, Trace Ridge, Spencer Gap, Spencer Branch, Fletcher Creek, Big Creek, Butter Gap, Farlow Gap, Squirrel Gap, South Mills, Pea Gap, Mulinax, Turkey Pen, Kitsuma, Heartbreak Ridge, plus you've only ridden maybe a third of what Dupont has to offer. a lot of trail that would look awesome in widescreen technicolor...lets go!
