Pisgah Fall Gathering, part II

(updated: Oct 25, 2007)

First video from our Fall Pisgah trip. This is Avery Creek. I rode the singlespeed 29er. While it was great to climb Clawhammer on a singlespeed, it wasn't as nice to wear the camera down the very rocky Avery Creek trail. I felt like a big jack-in-the-box head, bobbing around and nearly losing it a couple of times, not to mention on the first part I had my fork locked out, so it was like riding a rigid. It shows, too. The camera motion is a lot shakier.

The jerky motion combined with lots of leaves and strong shadows from the bright sun overhead makes for poor output as the compression can't resolve details. Filming in the woods is the most difficult to do. But dammit I try. Because the story must be told. Right.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, and there's more to come - Squirrel Gap and Black Mtn. And I'll likely make a DVD.
