Sunday Brig Trail Ride

(updated: Nov 20, 2007)

Got my new ride built up and had to take it for decent ride. Michael got a pass to get on base to ride the Brig Trail this weekend so Michael, Ed and I headed to Jacksonville early Sunday. You couldn't ask for better weather. There wasn't anyone else on the trail that early.

We did a lap, hit all the fun stuff along the way. Ed did the new drop they made. I noticed that some of the trail was rerouted (maybe longer now) and Ed's computer read 6.4 miles for the loop. We ended up doing three laps, two forward and one backwards.

After the first lap we hit the sketchy teeter-totter near the end. I've got to get around to building one of these out at Blue Clay.

The new ride was flawless. Three laps felt like nothing - I could've ridden all day. I've ridden this trail a lot, and this was the easiest it's ever been for me. It's the bike, because I'm not in better shape. Or maybe it's because I've been riding the RFX beast all year, hauling all that gear around. Regardless, the RIP 9 is the fastest bike I've ever owned.

My new Niner Bikes RIP 9. Who can tell me what RIP stands for?

I'd have to go along with Tracy and say "Roll in Peace" however Rest in Peace to your Turner could have fit as well..

Where, like Moab? Gooseberry Mesa? Northstar? AZ, CA, WA, OR, BC? Dare I dream about living in one of these places, or am I already living in one of these places and I'm having a nightmare I'm stuck in Wilmington, NC?
