New F.A.T.S. Video

(updated: Jan 2, 2010)

This was from a ride back last May, which is the last time I made it out to FATS (and yes, it's killing me not to have ridden FATS since last May). Ed and I rode all the trails there. I was trying to get to 50 miles but we ended up with 43. It required one more loop but this was a day trip so we had to head back (yes, you can do FATS in a day from Wilmington).

This footage is primarily from one trail: Great Wall, a 7.5 mile loop that is probably my favorite. It is super twisty in parts, as you can see from the video. Highly recommended.

This year the IMBA World Summit will be held right by FATS in Augusta, Georgia, May 5-8, 2010. So mark your calendars...should be some great rides planned.

Vimeo offers HD quality, so I've uploaded the video there for wider compatibility. Let me know how you like it compared to my prior method (also shown below).

Thanks for the you-tube version! Great video. Can't wait for things to dry out so I can make the trip. I've had to cancel twice now due to weather.

Yes we went CW. I thought it was great. Hard to imagine how it could get even better CCW but can't wait to try it next time.

First DH CCW on GW is in top 3 of all DH runs at FATS. This DH flows WAY better than the big DH starting the CW route. Nice video. Thanks for posting. Maybe see you at Summit.

I second seenvic. The first downhill CCW on the Greay Wall is at the top of the list. My favorite was the one on the Tower trail on the back side of the gravel road CW. You could spend all day just riding up the road and back down the trail. Lots of air and fast turns. One bridge looks like they sawed a log in half lengthwise. It was pretty awesome.
