Warrior Creek ~ a new video

(updated: Oct 31, 2010)

This video is from a group ride a few weeks back in early October. I was actually planning on going out of town the following weekend when Greg called and said they were camping at Warrior Creek. I thought, what a great idea, and brought the family along too. The kids love camping.

We camped in the Warrior Creek campground, which has huge new campsites right by the trails. I highly recommend this campsite, although I have not stayed at the other campsites yet, such as Bandit's Roost. Just don't try and go around the check-in office if you already have a pass and there is a line. We got pulled over for it. Also note that Warrior Creek Campground is CLOSED from Oct 15 - Apr 15.

Besides the biking there's boating and fishing in the reservoir. We rented a canoe and kayak for one afternoon and did some fishing. There's a neat tunnel under the road you can paddle through.

Besides the Warrior Creek Trails and Dark Mountain, there is the Overmountain Victory Trail (OVT) which is a little easier and more young rider friendly. At Dark Mountain (at the dam) there is also a flat gravel path that kids can go around. This is where I took my kids.

Good riding with good people. It's what it's all about.

The Warrior Creek video features Luna the trail dog. Being part Border Collie, she handled the fast twisty singletrack like nobody's business.

Finally, there's a hint at the end of the video of the next one to come.

Great job Erol, luna looked awesome! I didn't see any footage from the down hill run at dark mtn, is that on a different video? Oh yeah, you could have edited out my falls! It was fun, looking forward to doing it again. Maybe next time we'll all stay at the group camp site.
