Sunday ride - hill climbing at Wrightsville Beach
(updated: Mar 6, 2011)
Did a ride with Ed today. Started around 11am when it was not raining and even the sun was out for a little while. Hit the road, UNCW trails, and then the beach.
Started raining off and on at UNCW. Then after heading north from Johnny Mercer's pier to the end of the island, as soon as we turned around, 40+mph winds and pelting rain in our faces. Could not even look up. Made me laugh because it was ridiculous. 8mph. It was just like a good hard hill climb.
When we got back to the pier, our legs were totally pumped. Felt like good leg workout in the gym. Then heading back it was a completely soaking rain.
But it was a great ride.
And just in case you haven't seen these (they're making the bike blog rounds), they will get you stoked for riding:

Yeah, I noticed not having the aero bars was a real drag this time, literally.
