Riding in Raleigh
(updated: May 4, 2011)
Up in Durham last weekend...very difficult times right now, but on my way back decided to make the best of it and hit some good local trails. Conditions were ideal and there were a lot of folks out riding. As I left Durham, I randomly put on some podcast I had on my iPod and this amazing track called Heart is King started playing. Never heard it before, but was uncannily appropriate.
Good stuff here to keep you from getting bored.
And I'll just leave you with my definition of a perfect trail: "If your mind wanders, you're dead."
This rockpile was fun.
Check out this crazy shit on the trail.
Get speed for this one.
Small gap jump.
Other little fun stuff to keep the ride interesting.
Use onsite materials when building things. Note: not BWBP approved.
Reminds me of the riding up in Pittsburgh, PA...only without the six inches of mud.
Ideal trail conditions.

Where in Durham is this? I will be up that way in a few weeks and would like to hit this trail up just to see the "Ghost" in the tree. Kinda Blair Witch like.

Are these all the same trail? I recognize the last couple of pics but it has been about two years since I lived in Raleigh and haven't been able to ride it in about that long...some of the stuff looks different from my last time.

Riding there at noon today and can't wait! This is one of my favorites in the area. it's taboo to mention the name of this trail. It's funny to read about it on the triangle site cause they remove posts written about it. The reason is nobody wants it to get so big that it gets taken away- it's that much fun and challenging.

Awesome ride. The trail was super fast and fun. They have been working on some bridges and eroded areas and it was so nice. If anybody wants to take a trip up there some weekend let me know.
