Getting ready for the Tri-FAC ride

(updated: Jul 12, 2012)

The FAC ride aka Tri-FAC aka Tour de New Hanover County is this Sunday, July 15. It starts at 7am at Porter's Neck Port City Java. It goes all the way to Bald Head Island and back. Let me know if you want to join us -- we'd love to have more riders up for the challenge. All you need is a mountain bike, nothing special, and a willingness to ride it a long time. I haven't even done a 100 miler yet this year so it may be more of a challenge for me than last year. And then there's the weather/heat factor. But it's gonna be good.

Here is a link to my original post: 2012 Wilmington FAC Ride - Sunday July 15

And also some swimming as well at Bald Head. It's self-supported so bring a pack with all the stuff you might need. Don't just show up with a water bottle like my brother.

The FAC ride ... it doesn't end when the bike lane ends ... it ends when you run out of county.

I'm going to be down there on the 29th, but too late to join this weirdness. Plus its too late to train for it anyway.

Good Luck. May the wind be in your face and the sun on your backs.
