The 2013 Jet 9 RDO crabon fiber – it’s organic – means you can eat it
(updated: Jan 14, 2013)
Some photos of the new 2013 Niner Jet 9 RDO. This is my bike. The 2012 Jet 9 RDO is now the Jet 9 Carbon for 2013. And I'm confused by their model changes already. The 2013 has, you guessed it, 10% more crabon fiber. My 2012 had to be sent back under warranty, and this is what Niner returned.
Sorry you’re not going to get the usual bike-up-against-a-garage-door photos. This is what you get. To see it in its entirety you’re going to have to catch me, and if the new model is any indication of mountain biking trends, soon we will all morph into roadies, with the corresponding fear of any obstacles.
Next I am going to have to face the reality that my riding has peaked and I am no longer getting better technically. I am getting older and my technical ability is waning. It just means that I have to get a more expensive bike, and walk sections that I used to be able to ride.
Like this section on Bennet Gap:
Just like Lance … it’s not about the bike. And a nice crabon fiber Jet 9 RDO doesn’t do you any good either, unless you get stuck in the woods for days without any food. Then you can at least eat it. But really it makes you have to ride faster and longer just to get the same workout that you would on a heavier bike. And you'll still suck, just suck on a more expensive ride.

Peace, love, and organic crabon,
I've gone Rogue. How original:
Holy handlebar gadgets, batman! I could become confused, press the wrong lever and eject myself:
Anyone know what CVA stands for? Causes Valid Absences. As in from work.
Machined from a single piece of molyferrirniobiu...somethingsomethingsomething:
Did you know that blackboxes are made of crabon, which is why they never break. Ergo, why not make the whole plane out of the stuff the blackboxes are made of? Food crabon for thought.
Soon the crabon craze will come for you, too, Mr. Fox:
Soon nothing will be safe from the crabon:
I would like a free stroke, please.
Cooling fins for brake pads. What will they think of next? I know, crabon calipers, brake pads, and rotors! Nothing is safe from becoming crabonized!
If I created a bike, it would be called the Crabonzo.
Skid plate, anyone? Not made of crabon. Pfft.

CVA stand for Created by Vietnamese Agriculturalists. In other words, your bike was made by Vietnamese farmers. To verify this you need to look underneath the bottom bracket where you will find a decal stating who the manufacturer is.

Why yes, it is made in Vietnam. In fact, here are a few photos from their new production facility.

Did you get to see the photo of my RIP 9, the downtube did just that, Ripped in half. No big jumps or crashes, just was having a nice fast lap in the local woods, the creaking got loud and bam!, the frame was broken in two. Trying to get it welded, you can still do that with Aluminium. Your bike looks so cool with all the gadgets you have on it.

I like it. That must be it. The more crabon you have, the less your ability. Just look at triathletes for proof.

EPO ... Emergency Power On? Extra Pissed Off? Eating Pills Optimistically?
Whatever, I just want that stuff coursing through my veins when I ride.
I never knew drug addicts until I met cyclists.

Nah, they don't come in crabon. Seriously, they are great bikes, but I get the hookup on Niner's, so that's what I ride now.
