Henderson Ponds MTB Trail
(updated: Mar 18, 2013)
From Jeff LeBlanc of Down East Cyclists, headquartered in Jacksonville, NC:
We have been clearing lots of new mountain bike trail at the Henderson Ponds Recreation Area and now have a great 6 mile loop completed. We still have plans to add another mile or two, but this trail is an awesome ride so come on out and enjoy!!
This is a new trail at Camp Lejeune. I've ridden it, and it's worth the drive. It's got something for everyone, including some challenging tech features. It's about 7 miles of flattish singletrack with some lake views, lots of roots, and a couple of jumps/drops, log piles and skinny, with additional technical features to be added. So check it out.

Very good trail for beginners, but fun enough for more experienced riders. A few obstacles throughout the trail, more than any other trail I've been to in the area. Trail is up kept well and usually not very busy on weekends. Every time I have gone, there have been no more than 5 or 6 riders on the trail.
