The 2014 Wilmington FAC Ride
(updated: Apr 9, 2014)
Tired of riding around and around in circles on the same old trail and the same old roads? Well then try something different. Join us on the 2014 Wilmington FAC ride, a ride that uses regular mountain bikes and covers road, trail, and beach riding. You can use a fat bike but there's going to be a lot of road miles. You can use a cyclocross bike (or gravel bike as they like to call them now) but there's going to be a lot of sand miles. But if you can do it then more power to you. Whatever you have, bring it. As my brother says, "It's not the bike, it's the legs."
Route shown in the map below is the same as in prior years. Start time is the same as well.
DATE: Saturday May 10
START LOCATION: Porter's Neck Port City Java
WHAT: Ride to Bald Head and back, ~100 miles, traversing the long axis of New Hanover County.
Includes road, trail, beach riding (see route below), golf cart chasing, singletrack on Bald Head, and lunch on Bald Head.
Contact me if you're in, and always remember to bring a towel.
Different is good.
